Meet Lonnie
Lonnie Weaver-Johnson brings people together through messages that entertain, educate, inspire, and leave a lasting impression. She moves audiences to laugh, reflect, and grow. Her most recognized talk, “Your Zipper is Down: Turning Hard Feedback into Growth,” uses storytelling to help people rethink how they give and receive feedback. Lonnie is a world-class trainer, emcee, and workshop facilitator who has presented across North America, South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
As a seasoned leader, Lonnie has a proven track record of helping organizations build cultures of openness and trust that empower teams to thrive. She’s delivered over 1,500 performance reviews, navigated conflict and low performance, and even weathered her own PIP. Her stories move people, encouraging them to welcome feedback and embrace growth.
In addition to her feedback keynote, Lonnie delivers “Two Coaches, One Whistle,” an uplifting talk on overcoming adversity. In it, she reflects on the lessons she learned growing up as the daughter of a teenage mom—highlighting resilience, love, and the powerful influence of those who coach us through life.
Lonnie is an Agile expert and Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST), one of only about 300 worldwide, and among fewer than 30 women to hold this prestigious designation. She is also certified in Training from the Back of the Room (TBR), recognized for her engaging and learner-centered facilitation style. She holds a B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Minnesota. She is an active member of the National Speakers Association – Minnesota Chapter and a former Charter Member and President of a local Toastmasters Chapter.
